The hot weather makes people feel uncomfortable, and air conditioning is very popular at this time. Many women are afraid of getting tanned and unwilling to go out, thinking that air-conditioned rooms are more comfortable. However, it is important to remind female friends that women who use air conditioning for too long can easily experience menstrual disorders!

I believe female friends all have this situation! In summer, girls often like to wear sandals and short skirts to work, staying in air-conditioned offices for a whole day. And when I get home, I often keep the air conditioning on all night. After a period of time, some women suddenly find themselves experiencing menstrual disorders and unbearable abdominal pain. Why is this?

Experts believe that the human body can spontaneously regulate temperature. When the surrounding temperature is high, the blood circulation of the human skin accelerates, the surface temperature rises, and heat is expelled through sweating. In winter, due to the cold, the blood circulation in the human body slows down to reduce the loss of body heat. But this spontaneous regulation of the human body cannot be quickly converted. When a person enters an air-conditioned room from a hot outdoor environment, the peripheral blood vessels cannot contract quickly, resulting in poor peripheral blood circulation. Therefore, prolonged low indoor temperatures can easily lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea. Women who often sit in the office, especially young women, may experience ovarian dysfunction and ovulation disorders if they are exposed to cold air from air conditioning for a long time, leading to menstrual disorders, abdominal pain, and bloating.

Menstrual disorders are common gynecological diseases, characterized by abnormal menstrual cycles or bleeding volume, as well as abdominal pain and systemic symptoms before and during menstruation. The cause may be organic lesions or functional disorders. Many systemic diseases such as blood disorders, hypertension, liver diseases, endocrine disorders, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, molar pregnancy, reproductive tract infections, tumors (such as ovarian tumors and uterine fibroids) can cause menstrual disorders.

Expert advice: Firstly, the room temperature should be kept constant at around 26 ℃. Secondly, when the air conditioning is turned on, the lower areas are generally the coldest, and the legs and feet are the most sensitive to the cold. Therefore, women must wear socks, even stockings, in air-conditioned rooms. Thirdly, after the air conditioner is turned on for 1-3 hours, it is best to turn it off for a period of time, open the window to breathe fresh air, or take some outdoor activities every hour.
